Remote Work

12 Remote Work and Digital Nomad Conferences Happening in 2018

The concepts of working remotely and digital nomading have really taken off. Even looking at the Google search results for “remote work” you can see a significant rise in the past 10 years.

Naturally, with more interest and more people involved in remote work, there are more resources popping up for remote workers around the world. One such resource is conferences. A wonderful way to meet new people and connect over shared experiences.

There aren’t as many remote work conferences as there are marketing conferences (yet!) but it’s clearly a growing trend with more to pop up soon.

Here are the 12 that I’ve wrangled that are happening in 2018. I’d love to know if you are attending any and if you have any to add to this list! Leave a comment below so we can discuss. 🙂

Didn’t realise they had conferences around this! Is it new?

    • Hi. Not really, I would say Asia is ahead of the curve here as many people/companies who work remote spend significant time in Asia. I run the CU Asia conference (above) which is ostensibly about coworking but has always had a remote angle to it given clientele in many Asian coworking space. Running Remote (which is this June, in Bali) will be the first that I know of that is directly for companies that are running, starting as or transitioning to remote-first operations.

      • Thanks for the detailed response, Steve! You hit the nail on the head for sure. :)

  • Very interesting article…..

  • Also GCUC in NYC this April !

Awesome list of conferences, Hailley! We have an awesome event coming up in August 2018 at the Spanish Pyrenees, the first outdoor festival on Location Independence, FreedomXFest.

We’re gathering the key players of the movement and 50+ speakers from TimeDoctor, Doist, Facebook, CrossOver, E-Residency, and more. We’ll have different sections for remote work, global schooling, entrepreneurship,co-working, co-living, etc. And all that with the fair amount of fun. :)

Would be awesome to get added to your list!

  • Alexandra Kozma

Such a great list :) Nomad Summit will also be organized in the US this year, September 1-3, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada! This is an awesome opportunity for those who have been wanting to attend the conference but are not fully remote yet (or not at all) so they can’t leave the USA.

What we’re offering is talks from successful online entrepreneurs on business, taxes, long term traveling; 3 days of networking, workshops, awesome food and Vegas party vibes to bring like-minded people together.

It would be much appreciated if you could add it to your list of events :) Thank you
